Week # 42 Changes and Krusty the Krab..........

This week was a great week! first off we set the goal in our companionship to find an insanely high number of news and well we almost met our goal. We set the goal of 38 new investigators and only got 34 but this week we are going to reach the goal and then some. But as for my companionship... well my comp had changes and the Elder that is here now is Elder Macias from Chihuahua Mexico. I already know him because I was living with him for the first six weeks that I was here in Costa Rica.  I already know we are going to do great work here in the zone. I am super excited to see what we'll do and see how things go. But aside from that this week was a very busy/normal/great week. It is getting a little late because we had to go to San Jose to pick up my new companion and so I will just end this email quickly.
I love you all and I am so grateful to be a representative of Jesus Christ!

This is my new companion Elder Macias. You might recognize him because he was in the same house with me during the first six weeks of my training. We are going to explode here in Siquirres!

Week # 41 The work is Great!!

Okay this week I am going to write very little but I hope you all feel my love and know how grateful I am for everything!!

Okay this week was a great week of meetings and temple visits and all that fun stuff! Not much new has happened since last Wednesday but what has not happened is what worries me. Right now my zone is not doing so great in how many confirmations we will end the month with so we are looking for a lot of help this week. but we have a lot of faith and are going to make the sacrifices to reach or goal. We set an inspired goal at the beggging of the month and we are going to reach it dang it. :) in the mission we had this theme for the last little while called "dame este monte" which means give me that mountain which is a story of faith from the old testament. But last week during my personal study Iwas reading the story of Alma and Amulek when they were in the prison for many days without food or water and without clothing suffering a lot. In the story they call upon the lord and put there faith in him and break the cords that were binding them and the prison collapses around them due to their profound faith. so our new theme here in our zone is "Rompamos las Cuerdas!" so this week we are going to "break the cords" and get rid of the weaknesses that are holding us back from being the missionaries that we should be! I love you all and will talk to you all soon. take care! :)

Week # 40 Visit to the TEMPLE......

Good morning! I am here in San Jose today and writing early in the morning because....
WE ARE GOING TO THE TEMPLE!!!!!!
I am so excited! It should be a fantastic experience that I have been anticipating all week! But anyways things for me this week were great! I enjoyed working a lot in the precario this week and as always it was filled with miracles and special contacts! One in specific I would like to share. We were entering the precario on last Thursday and I was talking with my companion about how we are going to do in the zone this month and how we need to help prepare the zone for confirmations in may. We were a little occupied with our conversation but a man that was standing about 300 yards off in a house way back in the trees caught my eye. I ignored the thought to go talk to him for about 50 more yards as we were passing his house until I just turned left without saying anything to my companion. My comp thought I was going crazy but he followed as he asked me what we were doing. We started the usual door contact routine and I asked if we could teach him for 5 minutes. He let us in his poor plank house and we began teaching about the restoration of the gospel. Within 15 minutes we found out that he likes a lot of churches but he knew that no one has the authority to baptize. From that point it was an easy lesson of testimonies that this is the only true church and the only with the authority. Well to end the lesson we invited him to be baptized in May and he accepted! As we taught I felt the spirit telling me exactly what it was that this man needed to hear. I know that as we invite others to receive this message of gladness they will accept it. It just may take some time for the lord to prepare them. I know our Savior lives and that he directs his church. This is the only way to true happiness.
I hope you all have a great week and are praying for missionary experiences!

OH! and a little shout-out to my little brother who is starting mission prep this week!!! Well done Tyler! You better prepare well because you never will have that time back!

Love you ALL!!!

Week # 39 General Conference

This was a great week that strengthened my testimony in the power of the fast. I did a fast on wednesday to help me and my companion find the families that are prepared in our area. We ended up finding 3 families that are absolute golden investigators! One family of four not only accepted a baptismal date but also came to the chapel on sunday for conference! They are so great! While we were teaching them on Wednesday we shared about the restoration of the gospel and when we finished and asked how they felt about it they both told us that they know it is true. That they felt in that moment that this is the church for them. this is why I love my job!!!! The greatest and most important thing I will do besides a father and husband. So this was my great miracle for the week!

Love Elder Ferrin

we woke up early to play basketball and then cooked breakfast on saturday.
